Basketball Stars is a 2D arcade basketball game that took the mobile world by storm thanks to Miniclip's polished take on quick-match street hoops. On Pookigame you get the full browser version, with all the cartoon big-head players, exaggerated dunks and 60-second matches that made the original a phenomenon. It strips real basketball down to the parts that actually feel good – the shoot, the steal, the slam dunk – and ignores the parts that do not.
The whole game lives or dies on its 60-second match timer. There is no halftime, no slow ball-handling, no fouls. You get one minute to score more than the other player, and that pressure changes how every possession plays. A safe dribble across midcourt costs you five seconds you cannot afford. Going for the steal when you are down two points is the only sane play, even if it leaves you exposed.
How to Play Basketball Stars
Use the arrow keys (or WASD for player 2) to move your player. Z/X handle shoot and pass on the keyboard. Hold the shoot button longer for a stronger shot, release at the peak of your jump for an arc shot, or tap at the right moment for a dunk if you are under the rim. Press the action key as the opponent shoots to attempt a block.
Tips to Win Basketball Stars Matches
Shoot from just inside the arc rather than long-distance threes – the arc bonus rarely beats the higher make-percentage.
Time your blocks at the apex of the opponent's jump, not when they release. Most rookies block too early.
When you steal, do not just run – immediately fake one direction and break the other. Defenders chase the first move.
On the last 10 seconds with a one-possession lead, hold the ball at the back of the court and run out the clock. You do not need a basket.
