Temple Run 2 is the sequel to the endless runner that helped define the entire genre on mobile. Released by Imangi Studios in 2013, it kept the original's breathless "you-are-being-chased-by-a-giant-evil-monkey" premise and built around it a richer 3D world full of zip-lines, mine carts, river rapids and twisting jungle paths. The result is the most polished endless runner of its era, and on Pookigame you can play it in your browser without any downloads.

What separates Temple Run 2 from clones is its layout variety. The path is not a flat strip – you barrel down narrowing cliffs, leap between sliding mine carts, zip-line across canyons, and white-water-raft through rapid sections that change the controls. Every run feels different even though the core swipe controls never change.

How to Play Temple Run 2

Swipe (or use arrow keys) to control your runner. Left and right swipes turn at intersections, up swipes jump gaps and obstacles, down swipes slide under low barriers. Lean the character into curves by holding the screen on the appropriate side. Collect coins along the way to buy power-ups in the shop between runs.

Tips to Run Further

  • Always swipe a beat early at turns – Temple Run 2 forgives early inputs but is brutal on late ones.

  • Coin magnets pay back their cost on a long run. Buy the cheapest level first and upgrade only when you regularly beat 1500m.

  • On long straight sections, lean into one side of the screen and stay there – it picks up coins on that edge without sacrificing your line.

  • Mine cart sections are the trickiest. Swipe before the cart switches tracks, not as it switches – the visual is half a beat behind the input window.

More Endless Runners

If Temple Run 2 has you sprinting, try Crossy Road for chunkier voxel running, Slope Run for raw speed, or Make A Bridge And Go Get Diamond for a runner with a building twist. More in arcade games.
