Unblock Me is the wooden-block sliding puzzle that has been quietly addictive on phones, browsers and physical puzzle boards for decades. A 6x6 grid is crowded with horizontal and vertical wooden blocks, and one red block sits among them. Your job is simple to describe but maddening to do: slide the other blocks out of the way until the red one can escape through the exit slot on the right side of the board.

What makes Unblock Me satisfying is the rule that hands you most of the difficulty: blocks can only slide along their long axis. A vertical block moves up and down, a horizontal block moves left and right, and that is it. No diagonals, no rotation, no lifting pieces over each other. Every move opens one space and closes another, so the only way forward is to think about consequences three or four steps ahead.

How to Play Unblock Me

Click or tap a block and drag it along its slide direction. Vertical blocks move up or down; horizontal blocks move left or right. Keep going until the red block has a clear shot to the exit on the right edge. The move counter at the top tracks your efficiency – every level has a "minimum moves" target that becomes harder to match the longer the level.

Tips for Solving Faster

  • Work backwards. Find the red block's exit path first, then ask which blocks are in the way – that tells you what needs to move.

  • Long blocks are usually the bottleneck. Free them first; the smaller ones will normally fall into place around them.

  • If you have hit a dead end, undo two or three moves rather than restarting – the bad move is rarely the last one.

  • Track parity: vertical blocks change column space, horizontals change row space. If your red row is blocked, the next move must be a vertical, not a horizontal.
