3D Crossy Road is a tribute to one of the most-downloaded indie mobile games of the 2010s. You play a tiny voxel-style character hopping across an endless grid of roads, train tracks and rivers, with traffic that absolutely will run you over the moment you miscount your hops. What makes 3D Crossy Road different from a basic Frogger clone is the camera. The view is locked at a 3D isometric angle, so you can see traffic coming several lanes ahead. That sounds like a help, but it actually makes the game harder because you start planning three hops in advance and your fingers can never quite keep up with your eyes. How to Play 3D Crossy Road
Use the arrow keys to hop one square at a time – forward, back, left, or right. There is no continuous movement; every input is a single discrete hop. Cars, trucks and trains kill you on impact. Logs floating on water are safe to land on, but they drift, so you have to keep hopping along them to stay on board. Coins along the way buy new character skins between runs.
Tips to Hop Further
Hop in rhythm. The further you go, the more the game rewards a steady cadence over a stop-start one – traffic patterns reveal themselves to a moving character.
Roads with two lanes of fast traffic are easier than three lanes of slow – pick rows you can cross in one continuous burst.
On rivers, always hop onto the back end of a log, never the front. The log drifts; if you land on the front, you fall off the back almost immediately.
Side-hop occasionally even when the path ahead is clear. It resets the "standing still" timer so you can plan your next big crossing.
